Frederick Thomas Hicks

HICKS, Frederick Thomas _ February 25, 1936 (Retired member of the Metropolitan Toronto Police 1992) Son of the late David and Louisa Hicks. Loving husband of Carol (nee Gleed), dedicated father to Stephen (daughter-in-law Melody) and David. Proud Poppa of Justin, Brock, Shaylynne and Aiden. Brother to George, David, Eileen (Harris), Helen (McNaughton) and the late Cecil and William. Uncle to 15 nieces and nephews. In the loving embrace of his adoring wife Carol and holding his sons Stephen's and David's hands, Fred succumbed to his illness on February 29, 2004 at the age of 68. Friends may visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Rd., Scarborough (between Eglinton and St. Clair Aves. E.) on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Jerrett Funeral Home on Thursday, March 4, 2004 at 1 p.m. Interment Pine Hills Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Kicks Foundation at the Hospital for Sick Children, the Palliative Care Unit at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, Ontario or Sunnybrook and Women's Hospital Foundation would be gratefully appreciated by the family. Special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kevin Imrie, Donalleen, Pat and the staff of C3 at Sunnybrook Hospital. The family would also like to acknowledge the special care given to Fred and family by the nursing staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Ross Memorial Hospital. Our grateful thanks to the homecare and nurses from the Access Centre and St. Elizabeth for their care and assistance.
