Gail was a kind and gentle person who loved to dance, play cards, and have a good laugh with friends. She will be dearly missed by Robert Hughes, her sister, Barbara Murphy, and nieces Dawn Murphy (Dave) and Nicole Murphy (Cory) and great-nieces Grace and Megan, as well as many cousins and friends.
Gail was born and raised in Toronto and spent many happy childhood years caring for various cats that ended up in her home. She was fiercely proud of her Irish heritage and was happy to visit the birthplace of her parents. Gail worked as a secretary and receptionist prior to starting her family. She later volunteered for Meals on Wheels and then worked as a volunteer coordinator. She was a special and compassionate woman who left a positive impact on everyone she met.The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Providence Villa for her care during the past few months.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 1 at 10:00 a.m. at Jerrett Funeral Home, Scarborough Chapel, followed by the funeral at 11:00 a.m. and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or Meals on Wheels. ,v
