Gemer was and forever will be my uncle. I remember as I grew up he was stern but fair. He was always there to open his door if I ever needed his help and guidance. I hope he is now with his parents in heaven

I remember Uncle Gemer taking care of me and Allison when we were Preschool/kindergarten age. Grandma says he lived with us a year but at that age it just felt like he was there a long time. I remember he took us  grocery shopping and snuck us banana chips from the bulk food bins. He was always joking with us and spoiled us a lot! It was sad when he had to move away and I'm glad we got to see him last time we went to Canada. Gone too soon!

No matter how old we get I still see you as that little boy Susan and I pick on when we were growing up in Noveleta.  I’m sorry for that time we locked you up in the closet all morning. But through the years I will always remember your generosity not only with what you have but also with your time. The shed you built is still standing at my mom’s house. It reminds me of the time you spent with us when the kids were little.  They have fond memories of Uncle Gemer taking them to the park, giving them candy and other  sweet treats when mom is not looking and making sure their shoes are not put on backwards ( which 99 % of the time they were ). My mom will miss your phone calls just for “nangangamusta lang” that lasts for 2 hours.  You’re gone physically but we’re grateful for the fond memories keeping you in our hearts forever. Uncle Gemer used to babysit my sister Shanon and I when he lived with us in California for a year ( I was around 4). When we were bad he would say, "I'm going back to the Philippines" and we would say, "No! No! Stay!" My grandma would get mad because he would take us to McDonalds too much. Because of his taking care of us when we were little, I was excited to see Uncle Gemer again when we visited the Philipines  when I was 10. He said, "Alli you want to go to McDonalds?" like it was old times.   When Uncle Gemer moved to Canada, I got to see him every few years. I always found that he was the same kind, easy-going and fun person who tried to make others happy. 

My dearest Erlinda,
Gently may family and friends ease your pain.
Softly may peace replace the hurt you're feeling. 
Words no matter how kind can't mend your headache, but those who care and share your loss wishing comfort and peace of mind.
May you find  strength in the love of family and in the warm embrace of friends.
My deepest sympathy on the loss of your husband. I will continue to lift you and your family up in prayer and always be here for you.
We were put on this earth to help each other no matter what.

The first memory that popped  into my mind was when my sister's and I were kids, you would always drive us to McDonald's while we were in the Philippines.  And on our way there, you'd honk at all the females as you were trying to teach me how to pick up "chicks". 

You'll be missed Kuya Gemer.
