Passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1st, 2013 at Isabel and Arthur Meighen Manor.
Beloved husband of Hazel, loving father of Vivian, cherished grandpa of Patrick, proud great-grandpa of Madison. George is survived by 8 siblings.
Predeceased by his grandson, Geoffrey, and 3 of his siblings.
George was a tuba player for the 48th Highlanders Regimental Band from 1939-1946, and for Salvation Army Band for many years.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road, on Monday, March 4th, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday, March 5th, 2013 from 10 until 11 a.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the funeral home at 11 a.m., with interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Salvation Army, the Alzheimer’s Society, or the Meighen Manor Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family.
