We celebrate Giuseppe Di Croce’s life achievements and announce his peaceful passing on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Mount Sinai Hospital at the age of 91, surrounded by his family.

Giuseppe is fondly remembered by family and friends in Canada and Italy and is reunited in Heaven with his beloved parents (Biaggio and Marina) and all his siblings. Beloved husband of Rita for 53 years, loving Father of Marina (Roberto), and cherished Nonno of Joshua, Sara, and Emily. He will be loved, deeply missed, and forever remembered by all his family and friends.

Giuseppe was born on July 15, 1929 in Castellalto, Teramo, Italy. He came to Canada in 1964, met his wife, and together they started a new life. Giuseppe will forever be remembered for his strength, determination, calm nature, and witty sense of humour. He was an avid fixer upper, always looking to reinvent and recycle materials into creative toys and games for his grandchildren; he cherished his garden; and enjoyed playing scopa, briscola, and tombola with his family. His strength was uncanny and inspiring, working as a bricklayer for over 30 years and even climbing the cherry tree in the backyard up until age 90.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Jerrett Funeral Home, 1141 St. Clair Ave. W. (1 block east of Dufferin) on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm. Due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions and social distancing requirements, a limited number of visitors are allowed at a time and face masks are mandatory. Note, contact tracing information will also be affected.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 10am at St. Clare Catholic Church, 1118 St. Clair Ave. W. Capacity will be limited to 65 people and face masks are mandatory. A private entombment will follow at Prospect Cemetery.

In memory of Giuseppe Di Croce, donations may be made to Mount Sinai Hospital.
