Giuseppina “Pina” Galati, born on February 11, 1929, peacefully passed away on February 20, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. A devout Catholic, Pina has been reunited with her parents, Giuseppe and Emanuela, her siblings Nicola, Francesco, Antonio, and Vittorio, and her beloved husband Francesco, the love of her life.
She will be deeply missed by her sister, Rosina; children Robert and Grace; daughter-in-law, Rossella; and grandchildren Jessica, David, Renée, Danny, Andrew, Natalie, and Vanessa, along with her great-grandchildren Isla, Noa, Leon, and Luca.
Born in Vallelonga, Calabria, Italy, Pina moved to Toronto in 1953 with her family to seek a better life. It was here that she was reunited with Francesco, her soulmate, and together they built a beautiful life filled with shared dreams, deep devotion, and a love that lasted a lifetime. Pina’s love for her family was endless, and she cherished each one with unwavering devotion. Her kindness extended beyond her family, as she made everyone feel like her own, opening her heart and home to all who entered. No one ever left her house without a full stomach and a heart warmed by her generosity.
Her faith in God was the foundation of her life, guiding her every step and shaping the selfless love she shared with others. Pina's life was a testament to quiet strength, love, and grace. Her compassion touched everyone she met, and her legacy of warmth and love will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all those she loved and who loved her.
Guests will be received at Delmoro Funeral Home (61 Beverly Hills Dr., Toronto, 416-249-4499) on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 2-4 pm and 5-8 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at All Saints Roman Catholic Church (1415 Royal York Rd.) on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 11 am, with entombment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
Donations in memory of Giuseppina may be made to Saint Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation or Dorothy Ley Hospice.
