I only learned recently of Glenda's death - she visited last year, and reminded me why I had enjoyed working - and playing - with her so much.  Her keen intelligence and fierce authenticity taught me so much - and spending 3 days together in jury selection was a blast!

I met Glenda through Famous PEOPLE Players, when I was working there.  She was a brilliant burst of sunshine that would come shining through our doors, sharing her time, expertise, and generosity of spirit with the troupe. I was just informed about her passing, and offer my deepest sympathies and solace. 

As I am sure you know well, Glenda had a blazing life force; she was brave, so self-sacrificing in her beliefs in others, such a radiant dynamo of inner beauty that translated through that captivating smile. She was a role model and a mentor in how passionately she lived her life, and a deeply kind angel to so many. 

I feel blessed for having my life cross paths with hers and hope to take all of that inspiring energy that was GLENDA and shine it from my heart into all the lives that pass my way. Shine on, Glenda.

Dear Steve, I was so sorry to learn of Glenda's passing. While it is many years ago that we worked together at Scotiabank, Markham & Ellesmere Branch, her memory is so clear, though early in her career she showed the strength of character and humour to become successful as a senior manager.

My Thoughts of Glenda Hummel.  
It has taken me a while to compose myself to be able to put my thoughts of Glenda down on paper without writing a book.  
In life there are many kinds of people who enter or become a part of our lives.  
Some are inspirational; others are successful and some generous.  Some are fun and always smiling.  Some are extremely intelligent while others are very loving.  Some are very ambitious and some are constantly working hard to help others either personally or through charities.  But never in my life have I ever met anyone who was all of the above plus so much more to so many people including myself as Glenda was.  
May you rest in peace my friend.  
It was my privilege and my honour to have known you and had you as a (far too short) part of my life.

Steve, Please accept my condolances. I only had the privlige to work with Glenda briefly, but will never forget her energy and zest for life.  Her family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I met Glenda through her volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity Toronto and Scotia Bank. Glenda was a true woman of valour. What a bright light in the world. We will never forget her.

Glenda and I were friends a long time ago, in high school. Sadly we let time grow us apart but I have thought of her every now and again. I never will forget when I first met Glenda.  I explained to her in our first meeting that if she was to be incorporated into a Famous PEOPLE Players show for Scotiabank she must wear a black cotton turtleneck. Glenda quickly replied with a wink, “I don’t wear cotton. I wear cashmere.” That was the beginning of a beautiful friendship with Glenda and Famous PEOPLE Players.

Her resume in business oozes with successes and accolades.  We have come to learn that her greatest success was that of a friend.

I will remember Glenda for her loyalty, intelligence, excellent leadership, wicked sense of humour and deep concern for all.  So many people become very self-involved when they are ill, but Glenda never did.  She continued to be a staunch supporter of Habitat for Humanity, Famous People Players and so many other causes as well as a wonderful friend and mentor.  Glenda, it was an honour to know you.  I will miss you deeply and will always be grateful for your support and friendship.  We will continue on laughing, my friend.

I've never had such a deep friendship as the one I had with Glenda. She pushed me outside my comfort zone. She taught me to see humour in the simple aspects of life. And she was always there for me. I will miss her so very much. Go with love and peace, my friend.

Glenda inspired everyone at Habitat for Humanity Toronto. Lending her expertise, advice, connections and good humour, she was a volunteer with a huge heart who made an impact on everyone she worked with, including the 16 Toronto families who are now proud Habitat home owners on the site that inspired her. She has left a legacy at Habitat for Humanity Toronto and we will be forever grateful.

I was saddened to learn of Glenda's battle with cancer.  Although I have been retired since 2003, I have many memories of her and her laugh and battles with Alan Hosey.
