July 06, 1963 – September 02, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Grant Stanley Bachorz, who died on September 2, 2026, at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, surrounded by his family. He was 63 years old.
Grant was born in Toronto on July 6, 1963, and made his home there for his entire life. He was the owner and manager of 592 Woodbine Avenue, known to many as Villette’s Apartments, where he took pride in looking after the building and the people who lived in it.
Grant had an independent spirit and a love of doing things himself, tackling whatever he could with his own two hands. He was a warm, pleasant man who was easy to talk to, and people enjoyed his company. He spoke fondly of his years at Trinity College School (TCS), which remained a cherished part of his life. He was a devoted fan of Peter Gabriel and the Toronto Maple Leafs, enjoyed a good documentary, and had a lifelong interest in airplanes. Two of his favourite places to be were the ski hill and his family cottage on Little Cameron Lake.
Grant is lovingly remembered by his children, Julie Tremblay-Bachorz (Peter Troung) and Filip Bachorz (Rebecca McNeil); his grandchildren, Adélaïde and Éloïse, who brought him great joy; his mother, Patricia; his sister, Lynda; as well as nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was predeceased by his father, Les, and his brothers, Steve and Marek.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Firkin on Danforth. All who knew Grant are welcome to come share stories and remember him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Odette Cancer Program at Sunnybrook Hospital.
