I first met Hector through my friend Ismael Cala when I was videotaping at the Tropicana nightclub many many years ago. I clearly remember how welcoming and warm Hector was to me. He made me feel special. What a wonderful man. He certainly loved people and life. What a tragedy to loose him at such a young age. He will be missed greatly, but his kindness and special smile will live on forever.

Hector!! no fuimos amigos cercanos pero tuvimos el gusto de conocernos recuerdo las noches cuando Bailabas en el Convento Rico y ponias con mucho amor y energia todo lo q sabias en baile, eras un GRAN ARTISTA y a los grandes artistas e les recuerda con carinio.  Que Dios te tenga en su Gloria y ahora te toca poner a todos en el Cielo a bailar y mostrarles tu arte (BAILAR)asi como nos mostraste aqui en la tierra.  DIOS TE BENDIGA SIEMPRE A TI Y A TU FAMILIA

R.I.P. Hector Neira, to a well respected entertainer, & choreographer. He was my friend, & collegue that i had great respect & admiration for his wisdom, talent, dance education, & professionalism. We worked together sharing the same stage or movie set! His big contegous smile, sabor on the dance floor, and his knowledge for dance and choreography wowed audiences in Toronto. Strickly Salsa crew will miss u!

What I learned this week about Hector's life is how much he was loved, not only his latino family, but by all of his friends and people who knew him and how much his love for them brought them all back together.  Even though I couldn't understand the language, I could understand the love.

Hector, I didn't know much about you but I loved what I knew. Wish I'd had the chance to know you better.

I met Hector many many years ago. Its been so long, I am not even sure the year. Hector was a kind, happy and generous man who always had a funny story to tell or an infectous smile to share. We shared many great times and laughter too over those years. He will be missed by thousands of people who knew him through that wonderful smile!

When i first met hector i was definetly shocked to how well we got along he got me thru some ruff times in my life, He was there whenever i needed to talk to someone or even if just i needed to be in same room. He had a way of making everything seem so much better, I will miss those times and treasure every memory of him for as long as i live. He will be greatly missed. RIP

Cuantos anos de amistad,creo que ya pasan los 20,cuando llegue a cienfuegos, tu ciudad natal en cuba, a compartir el escenario en aquel show que hasta hoy no recuerdo el nombre, hay fuimos amigos junto a teresa , alina, vicente , luis enrrique RIP )ernesto,sandra,y tantos otros que compartimos tantos momentos de risa y corre corre, recuerdo que siempre se escuchaba tu risa por encima de tanto grito, y alboroto , hoy ya no escuchare tu risa , pero los recuerdos quedaran por siempre en mi corazon, al igual que se  quedaron en los pasillos  del hotel jagua,y hotel rancho luna,cuando llegastes a este pais de la mano de carole,gran mujer,que te amo, te cuido y guio, hasta tu ultima morada , descansa en paz amigo , solo te adelantastes en el camino a ensendernos la luz, como se ilumina el escenario al comienzo del show. "98% de la alegria en Toronto se fue contigo hermano Hector...... muchos somos testigos de los miles de momentos de humor, energia positiva y muy buen gusto que nos regalastes, a travez de los años, aca. En vida, fuiestes el primero en muchas cosas y en muchas mas fuistes el mejor...amigo como pocos, alguien en quien confiar.....padre envidiable y atrevido aventurero; todas juntas fueron las causas que te hizieron ese ser que tanto vamos ahora a recordar...!
