Mr. Howard Bernard Shaughnessy

We are sad to announce the death of Howard Shaughnessy on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Kelly). Loving father of Mara and her husband Sean. Proud grandfather of Matilda and Tadhg. In his 73 years, Howard was passionate about family, friends, education, the arts, literature, travel, gardening, entertaining, and sharing his expert opinions on many topics. In the last 5 years, he overcame unexpected obstacles to continue to enjoy those things that he loved. Howard was an English, Drama and Media teacher for over 30 years, beginning in Deep River, Ontario, and on to both the Toronto and Scarborough School Boards. In addition, he enjoyed performing with a start at St. Brigid’s Church Hall, through St. Michael’s College School and St. Michael’s College at the University of Toronto. Most recently, Howard was thrilled to be a part of Scarborough Music Theatre.

on Thursday, May 26 from 4 - 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2016 at St. Basil’s Church, 50 St. Joseph St., Toronto, followed by interment at Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery.
