It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Herman Marx, who passed away on August 28, 2026, in Toronto, Ontario, at the age of 72.
James was born on November 1, 1953, in Ontario. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 35 years, Helene, and his brother Carl (Janet), along with family and friends whose lives he touched.
James and Helene shared a wonderful life together, filled with love, companionship, and a passion for travel. Some of their happiest memories were made exploring Europe, where they embraced the beauty, culture, and character of the places they visited. France held a particularly special place in their hearts, especially Nice and the French Riviera. They treasured their time wandering along the Riviera and creating memories together. Among those memories was the adventure of walking from Menton, France, to Italy, a journey they remembered fondly for years to come.
James had a deep appreciation for the arts, with a particular interest in modern and 21st-century art. He also enjoyed reading and was someone who valued curiosity, culture, and the opportunity to discover new ideas.
Above all, James will be remembered for the life he shared with Helene, the memories they created together, and the love he gave to those closest to him. His absence will be deeply felt, but the many special moments he shared with his family and loved ones will remain cherished.
Cremation has taken place.
May you rest in peace, with all my love,
Helene
