Mr. James Francis Pavey

James was the proud son of his late father and mother Albert and Violet Pavey of Trichinoply, India where he was born. "Jimmy", beloved husband of his predeceased wife Audrey Mildred Nurse and the dear father of David. James was predeceased by all of his brothers and sisters.

He leaves behind his loving family: son David Young and his spouse Danae Young, grandson Mark Young, granddaughter Rebecca Young and her partner Michael, their children Tayah and Justin as well as many nephews and nieces, grand-nephews and nieces and great-grand-nephews and nieces.

James loved and cherished his family, as they did him.

James also leaves behind his wonderful and caring extended family at The Woodsworth Housing Co-Operative. He was appreciated and respected by all whom he touched at the co-op. As an original member he set the bar very high for service to his extended family, whom he honoured and respected.

James arrived in Canada in the mid 1970's, after retiring at the very top of his profession in The Indian Railways. He began a brand new career at The Manufacturers Life Ins Co. He won their prestigious Gold Award in 1989 and then the following year in 1990 the company recognized his contribution in “Going Above and Beyond Normal Business Demands to Achieve Extraordinary Results”.

James also taught Life Lessons to new Canadians at a local community school for adults.

James Paveys’ Christian beliefs played a very large and important role in his life. He made many friends at The Cathedral Church of St James where he worshipped for over thirty years, and held The Rev Canon David Brinton in high esteem. A funeral service at The Cathedral of Saint James was well attended.

A special thanks to James’ attending physician of many years Dr. Iglar, his home palliative care team headed up by physicians Whelan and Howe respectfully. He loved the whole team and what they did for him, as well as The Palliative Care Unit at St Mikes’ Hospital.
