Today I said goodbye to my cousin/brother, you were one of my favs. I looked up to you since day 1. It didn't feel real...as I saw you laying there, I kept thinking you're fake sleeping like we used to when we were kids and that you were joking. It wasn't until the incinerator door slammed shut my heart sank and I realized this is it you're not coming back.
You looked out for me since I was a baby and never stopped. You were the comedian in the family, I learnt from the best. You were also one of the smartest ppl I know who always preferred to read a book at the table than watch TV. You had a different outlook on life, meaning it didn't have to be  complex. Everything you did was calculated and served a different purpose. I'll never forget as kids our living room boxing matches, comedy sketches, dance battles, reenacting Bruce Lee movies, wrastling, getting into trouble (which led to a whole lot of lixx😂)..the list goes on and on..
You stepped up and took care of our niece out of the kindness of your heart bc you felt it was the right thing to do👏🏽. There was always a different plan for us, yours always seemed to be the toughest road but nevertheless you hustled and made it look easy. 
We lost touch the past few years, and I have to live with that, maybe I could've done more...but I know you would just say should've, would've, could've, lol. There's just so much more..but like they say...time waits for no one.
I know you're in a better place bc of the person you were, we will cross paths again..till then rest easy big brother Ja'son

Hey Jay! Babz here ❤ My heart is aching knowing that we will never see you again. My cousin, my brother, you were always one of my most favourite people and I am going to miss you so much. I wish we had had the chance to reconnect over the years. It breaks my heart knowing we never will 💔 You were one of the smartest people I've ever known, with the biggest, kindest heart, funny, and so much fun to hang out with. I always remember the lasagna you made and almost dropped on the floor. It was one of the best I've had! You may be gone from this earth, but you will be forever in our hearts. You're with grandma now, and all I can think is that she whoopin you with the pot spoon 😝 I love you so much. Rest Easy, Brother ❤🙏🏽 

Dear Jason,

the news of your completely unexpected passing has left me at a loss for words, and I will do my best to briefly express how much of a positive impression your Bright Light had on me and my family-circle.
I will always remember you as an awesomely-cool, upbeat, hiighly-intelligent, ambitious, witty, stylish, handsome, loving and loveable Dude - and as a wickedly-talented cook as well🤗))
Your Light crossed paths with mine through the Grace of your connection with my sister Shali.
It was always super-easy to chill and chat with you, and I will be forever grateful for how you stepped up with Shali, and for the immense role you slipped into without hesitation, as being a Dad for sweet and wide-eyed baby Jazmyne. Similar to what others have mentioned, my biggest regret is that I didn’t get to know you better. To be honest, I thought there was still sohh much more time...
As you did while you were here, your passing too has created a huuuge effect: it is an enormous reminder to not take time-with-loved-ones for granted, for they can be gone before the blink of an eye…
and while I do fully wish that you weren’t already gone, in some ways I can’t help but think that you are now waay better off than the rest of us who are still trapped here, in the ever-increasing craziness of the currently sideways and upside-down world.

Jason was the sweetest, kindest person. He was my best friend for a very long time. He helped me so much with raising my daughter and was like a father to her for her whole life. He was very witty with a wonderful sense of humour. I really miss you and still can't believe that you're gone. You will always have a big place in my heart ❤️.

Uncle J' was the sweetest person I have ever known.  Amongst all his qualities he was smart, artistic and poetic.  I can still remember when he would randomly freestyle in the home, when he would make me all my favorite meals and when we would watch Storage Wars together.  He taught me how to ride a bike,  how to write, but most importantly he taught me what it meant to be a good person. I was the luckiest kid in the world to be raised by him, he was the only father I will ever know and it breaks my heart to have to say goodbye to someone that has been there my entire life.

Jason was a very kind, and thoughtful person.  He was insightful and clever, and had a great sense of humour. I regret that I didn't get to know him better, and it's hard to come to terms with the fact that he's gone.

He will always be a part of my memory, as he will live on in the memories of so many others. l'm grateful for the time I did spend with him.
