I was shocked to learn our kind, loving, good natured and generous cousin - Jeff Harvey - passed away.

I loved Jeff from the day I first met him when visiting Toronto in the late 80s.  He simply couldn't do enough for us and it meant so much to him that we had made the journey to Canada to meet our family.

He was so very proud of his family and friends and always enthusiastically and wholeheartedly supported them. 

He is the smartest, most generous, kind and positive person I have ever met.  Even in the face of adversity and suffering poor health his thoughts were always of others.

When he heard we were passing through Vancouver in 2010 he asked us to ring him from the airport because he wanted to talk to us while we were in the same country.  He felt a strong need to exchange a few words while standing on the same soil - and that made us feel really special.

That's what he did ... he made people feel special.

Nothing stopped him keeping in touch and he would often phone us in New Zealand using his amazing (1c per minute) phone card.

The memories he made, he absolutely treasured.  And we will treasure his memory.

Now at rest with your beloved Mum, Audrey and Gerry.

I will always cherish my happy memories of this wonderful, wonderful man.

Jeff spent time with us in New Zealand - his Kiwi cousins, and we loved him dearly.

Jeff.  It was with real great sadness that we learned of your passing recently.  I can't believe you are gone.  I remember meeting you on our first trip to Toronto in 1987 - that was so exciting meeting our Canadian family.  We sure have great memories of our visits to Canada (including the wearing of napkin rings at Audrey's, and attending the Blue Jays baseball game - you saying sorry that I hadn't enjoyed the game more (yeah right - best time ever :)), and your trip to New Zealand (including our 4 wheel drive trip over to Orongorongo station).  I know that Uncle Len also enjoyed having you stay during your visit.  I still cherish my last trip to North Bay with Mum and Dad when Gerry and Donna dropped us off at the St Amand's home on Premier Road.  We literally all fell out of the car!!  Mum and I still laugh about that (trust me, you had to be there to see it).  Family was everything to you, and you loved everyone around you.  You were such a smart learned man, who definitely knew lots.  We will miss our phone conversations as it was always lovely chatting with you.  But, in amongst all this real sadness, I know that you are now with your beloved mother and sister Audrey, and free of all your recent pain and illnesses.  RIP Jeff.  Love you and miss you dearly. Tons of memories of Jeff, one of the "boys" from our days at Chippewa. He was the first fellow I met that was informed about just about everything, from current events to football stats to you name it.He could get us in to the large gym in St. John's for floor hockey because he was an altar boy at the church. He had the first copy of the T Rex album!
Most of all, he was always positive.

I remember Jeff always laughing and smiling. He was a man of big words who had a big presence. The smartest person in my class at high school. Lover of the football Raiders at Chippewa. Called us the Kansas City Chiefs because our uniforms looked similar. What a loss. RIP, Jeff.

Jeff was the smartest guy in my class at Chippewa. Always sming. He loved watching our football team. He always thought the Raiders looked like the Kansas City Chiefs with their red uniforms and high white socks. It made me feel so professional. So sad we lost touch after high school.

You impacted so many people in positive ways...........your kindness and patience will be forever remembered. We are sure that your loyal friendship will never be forgotten. The Chippewa "boys" will certainly miss you!!!
