John Patrick Dundas

Life will never be the same without our beloved John Dundas. John was a strong, quiet man who never took more than he needed, accepted people for who they were, and never imposed his opinions or ideas on anyone. John Dundas, 85, of North York, died after a brave short battle with lymphoma on September 27th, 2026.

He was born in East York in 1940 to parents Edith Dundas, nee McKnight and Henry Dundas, who will be lovingly remembered by his girls: Wife, Patricia and daughters Lesley (deceased), Laura, Jenny and Jill Dundas, for his constant patience, hilarious nature and being the pillar of the family. John was easy to like, as seen by his many close friends, including his closest friend Jimmy Giblin, with whom he had decades of laughs with. He will always be loved and remembered by his grandchildren, Dee, Peter, Olivia Gaul, Adam and Natalie Nassab.

John graduated from Central Tech School and went on to become a plumber after graduating from George Brown College. He spent the bulk of his professional career at Local 46 for 67 years. He worked hard and never shied away from working overtime or helping a friend.

John will always be remembered by his calm, unshakable nature (which is quite a feat considering he raised 4 daughters), and we could not have asked for a better father and husband.
