Peacefully, on May 29, 2014, having enjoyed the gifts of health and longevity, in his 92nd year, John Feeley made his final journey home. Fondly remembered by his children, Michael, Denise and Patricia and sadly missed by his 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife Dalene (Carr), 7 of his 8 siblings and his partner Cadie (Desjardins). John was a lifetime independent businessman and member of the Toronto Real Estate Board and an Insurance Broker since 1946, a cornerstone of the Church & Wellesley area and private developer of a lakeside community on Kempenfelt Bay. He was the founding member of the Church-Wellesley Business Association and long-time Honorary Director of the Yonge-Bay-Bloor Business Association as well as past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Kingsway Council. A WWII veteran of Lancaster bombers and a member of the Military Institute he was the inspiration for the WWII Veteran’s Memory Project and enjoyed sharing tales of his experiences especially during Remembrance Day events at Toronto schools. Thank you to the staff at St. Michael’s Hospital for their care. Gratitude especially to the dedication of John’s faithful friend Dominic who allowed him to maintain quality of life to the end. Never at a loss for words and fiercely independent, John will be sadly missed. Rest in Peace. John’s family will receive relatives and friends from 3-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m on Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel, 467 Sherbourne St. Toronto (South of Wellesley St.).
