Jose Antonio Gonzalez-Herrera

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jose Antonio Gonzalez-Herrera on August 30, 2026, at the age of 78.

Born on January 12, 1948, in El Salvador, Jose was the son of Jose Antonio Gonzalez Eguizaval and Lus Maria Gonzalez. He later made his home in Toronto, Ontario, where he spent many years creating a life filled with family, love, and treasured memories.

Jose was the beloved husband of Grace Maria Gonzalez Garcia, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories, standing by each other through the joys and challenges of life. Their enduring love was a beautiful and cherished part of Jose’s story. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Manuel and Jose; daughters-in-law, Jennifer and Lasalette; grandchildren, Anthony, Ayden, and Alec; as well as extended family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Jose cherished spending time with his family and found some of his happiest moments in the simple pleasures they shared together. He loved going fishing with his family, enjoying the time spent together and the memories they created along the way. He also had a special gift for woodworking and took great pride in creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces for his family, especially his grandchildren. Each piece was made with his hands, but more importantly, with his love, leaving behind treasured keepsakes that will always remind his family of him.

Jose will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and cherished friend. His presence brought comfort and warmth to those around him, and his memory will live on through the family he loved so dearly and the many lives he touched.

Though he is no longer with us, the love he gave, the memories he created, and the legacy he leaves behind will remain forever.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.

May he rest in eternal peace.

Visitation will take place at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON M1K2B5, CA, on September 4, 2026, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location on September 4, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
