Hello Georgina, I knew your mother from the time she was with the YWCA at the Etobicoke location from 2004-2008.  Although I didn't know her too well, I knew that she was a kind, quiet soul.  One of my memorable memories of her was when she got stuck in our dinky freight elevator after most people had left for the day.  She was leaving for home and took the elevator because of her bad knees. She had been stuck for a little while before we heard a voice from the intercom, it was her and we  could barely hear her.  When we realized what had happened, my co-worker ran outside to the lobby, and found her sort of caught between two floors with a little bit of window, we could see her inside.  We went to find the landlord, who hadn't responded to her buzzes and got him to move the freight elevator to our floor so she could get out.  She was relieved for the rescue, although she was upset, she mostly mumbled under her breath, rested a bit then went about her way.  May she rest in peace, and may you be comforted to know that we loved having her on our team and I know that she loved you (Georgina) very much. 


It pains the family to know that Joyce spent the pass year battling to get better. Our hearts go out to her daughter Georgina, who has been very strong throughout this process. We will continue to keep Joyce memories alive, by remembering the good times. Joyce was such a jovial person, I can hear her voice as we write this. She has the most infectious laugh, and always such a caring person. Absolutely gone too soon, but will never be forgotten. Love Sharon & Family. 🙏🏾💗💗
