Julija Glogovich

17 March, 19279 June, 2021

Julija passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2021 at the age of 94. Julija was born on March 17th, 1927 in Hungary, to Ana and Karoly Ferenczi. She was the 3rd eldest of nine children. Despite much hardship faced in her homeland during World War II, her family kept their Hungarian traditions and their love for their homeland alive. In search of a better life, she emigrated to Canada with her son Julius and sister Ilonka from Germany in the early 1960s. It was here that Julija was reunited with her brothers Charlie and George. God had blessed Julija in her later life with her daughter Szuzi. She began working shortly after her arrival in Canada, and maintained her strong work ethic throughout her life. Julija will always be fondly remembered for her generosity, kindness and thoughtfulness. Her love of God and the childhood memories of her mother singing Zion Harp songs led her to her baptism on October 27th, 1996, at the Apostolic Church of the Nazarene at the age of 69. It was there that she found peace and had been able to serve God faithfully for the remainder of her life. Julija lived the last 22 months at the Cambridge Country Manor where she was blessed by the love and care of the nurses, PSWs and staff. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude. A Private Viewing will be held on Sunday, June 13th, 2021, followed by a Private Funeral Service on Monday, June 14th, 2021, at Jerrett Funeral Home – Scarborough Chapel. Julija will be laid to rest at Pine Hills Cemetery. Dear Julius and Szuzi,

Your Mom was always happy to see me and I looked forward to visiting with her and enjoyed her cabbage rolls.

I will always remember your Mom for her love and generosity. She gave us so many wedding presents. Many of which I use regularly and smile when I see them.

May God comfort you in this difficult time as you hold on to her precious memory.

Much love,

Nancy Wilkinson

I visited Julia quite often in her home. She was always so friendly and welcoming, always inviting me to stay and share a meal. She was a fabulous cook and baker with excellent Hungarian cooking! I also visited her at Cambridge Country Manor and had the privilege of bringing her some of my cooking. Her love beamed through her eyes. She will always be lovingly remembered. My heartfelt sympathy to her family.
