Karl was born on June 27th, 1966, in Toronto, ON, to Karl and Mary (Crowe) Paitz.
Karl spent 39 dedicated years serving his community as a letter carrier for Canada Post, from which he retired. Known for his time management and efficiency, he brought that to everything he did. Since Karl loved to work with his hands, those traits served him well -from fixing cars and building a house to planting herbs. He loved sitting back and watching German soccer consisting of FC Bayern Munich, or the German National team, Snooker, or listening to some Led Zeppelin while sipping on an ice-cold Hacker-Pschorr.
Karl's greatest love was his family. He was the deeply loved husband and best friend of Rhonda, with whom he shared 36 wild and wonderful years. He was an immensely proud father
to his three children, Krystal, James and Haley and an adoring Grandad to Claire.
We wish to sincerely express our deepest gratitude to ALS Canada (Liza, Sarah M, Sarah R and Emily), Sunnybrook ALS clinic and staff (Dr Bonares), Michael Garron Hospital and staff, and the exceptional staff at WestPark Healthcare Facility for the outstanding care they provided Karl for the last two years of his journey.
A celebration of Karl's life will be held June 20th. Visitation is for 12 PM, Service at 1 PM with a reception immediately following at Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Rd, Scarborough.
In honour of his passion for the beautiful game, and his love of FC Bayern Munich, his wife Rhonda invites you to add a splash of red the day of.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Karl's memory to ALS Canada, Sunnybrook ALS clinic or WestPark health care facility.
