It is with profound sadness that the family of Krystyna Macey announce her sudden and peaceful passing after a long and joyous life. Her daughter Leanna and husband George of 54 years were at her side.
Krys will be fondly remembered for her kindness, strength, expert culinary and gardening talents, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Krys (Bubs) will be lovingly remembered and cherished by her husband George, daughter Leanna (Bernie) and granddaughter Sienna, son Tyler (Danielle) and granddaughter Calleigh, her brother John (Maria) and nephews Stephen and Nicholas, her brother Caz (Jody), niece Terra and Nephew Josef and her sister Theresa and nephew Alexander. Krys’ loving predeceased parents were Nina, Henry and Joseph.
Krys graduated from the Port Arthur General Hospital Nursing Program 1969 and then from Lakehead University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After working in various fields of nursing she joined her husband’s dental practice and they worked together for 25 years.
She was a wonderful and loving mom and wife and an extremely strong woman with an incredible work ethic and did things her way. She was also a super Baba (Bubs) to her granddaughters Calleigh and Sienna. She loved spending time with the girls and sharing Baba wisdom with them.
One of Krys’ greatest pleasures were the 45 summers she spent at camp on Coral Beach on the shores of Lake Superior where she displayed her artistic skills as a gardener as she showered the camp’s landscape with beautiful floral works of art each year. She loved nature and sitting by the lake. She would often be found feeding birds, or with chipmunks on her lap and walking her dogs to Mackenzie Point. Many friends and family had the honour of experiencing her tasty culinary masterpieces at the many dinner parties that Krys hosted.
For the past few years Krys and George spent winters and springs in Toronto with their daughter Leanna and family. Krys made many friends as she strolled along the Danforth shopping and visiting the Eton House Tavern. She spent hours gardening each spring and left a beautiful garden for her daughter’s family to enjoy and remember her.
Krys elected cremation and her remains will be interred at her favorite place in the world at her camp on Coral Beach on Lake Superior.
