I wish to thank everyone for posting their condolences and/or memories of my mum.  My mother was a selfless person.  Everything she did, she did for others.  She loved to make people smile or laugh.  She was kind.  Never had a bad word for anyone.  I was extremely lucky to have her for my mother, and not only my mother, but my best friend too.  She donated generously to animal welfare agencies and various other foundations.  In the hospital, she thanked the nurses each time.  She thanked the cleaners and commented on what a great job they were doing.  She waved to people passing by in the hall.  She never complained.  She has now been called to do great work on the other side.  She will rest first.  The last thing she said to me was "I'm going to go to sleep now."  Okay mum, you sleep and I'll see you later.  I'm going to miss you like crazy.  See you on the other side mum.  I love you.  xoxoxo

My sincere condolences Judy to you and your family on the passing of your mother, Laura.   I had hoped these past couple of years  that I would have had a chance to meet her before her passing.  Through Stephen Smith we were able to connect  to Laura about our Colton side of the family.  Fortunately I was able to share our history with Laura at Christmas 2016 and I remember she was so excited to receive that information.  On behalf of myself, my Uncle Bruce Colton, my mother (Barbara Colton (Rowles) Seupersaud, and our families, we extend  our sincere heartfelt sympathies.  Bruce is the son and my mother is the adopted daughter of George Colton, son of John Cochrane Colton and sibling to Laura's father.  Thinking of you at this difficult time!


It was with great sadness that  I heard of Laura's passing. I had known of Laura most of my life as she was my father's first cousin, and he talked of her often (I believe Laura was his first baby sitter).  Regretfully   I saw Laura only infrequently  in the early part of my life, but was most  fortunate to have been  in  regular contact with her in the past  few years.  Laura  provided an amazing wealth of stories, photos,  enthusiasm and  inspiration  in the search  to reconnect  the lost threads of her Colton, Ross MacLean and Gordon family. I shall miss her. My condolences to Judy, and all of  Laura's extended family.


The cousins and extended family in Paisley, Scotland extend heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Judy, the grandsons and all the family at this sad time.

Laura was a cousin that I never got to meet. We were fortunate to discover each other only a few years ago, through the efforts of her nephew, Stephen.
Our exchange of  letters, cards and gifts in that short time brought pleasure to both of us.

Laura was my Uncle Matts sister.
She was my cousins Aunt ...but I thought of her as my aunt somehow.

I will miss Aunt Laura more than she will ever know. She was a wonderful woman and an exceptional mother to her daughter Judy and a grandmother to Jeff Keith and Kevin. Their loss is the greatest and deepest but Oh how lucky they all were to have her for the time they did. I believe Judy and her mother were/Are soulmates. My last birthday card from her she wrote "Thanks for all the laughs!" Thank you too Aunt Laura! I will love you and miss u forever.

Aunt Laura was a great woman. She had a special place in my heart. From being a child and visiting her off the Danforth on my bicycle and going up to the cottage in Kirkfield with my parents and sister. You will be missed.   Love always, Guy and Arlene.
