How do you see or know God?
Through the kindness, care and affection from another human being.  That's what God stands for. Personification of empathy, sympathy and compassion are the hallmarks of the Almighty. 
When I met Leabert in Toronto in late  August 2004, he said I have a family in Toronto and that I should not think I was alone. I had no money, no place to stay and it was a new place to me. Rob took me in , just like he took hundreds of others in his life. He is one of the few in my life who stood full size, as a manifestation of God. 
I am certain that he has other important assignments and had to leave us. I find thinking about him pacifies me and his memory itself is sufficient to carry on further into time.

Dear Rob,

 I cannot believe that you left us. I never knew that the hug you gave me would be the last one from you.

I have rarely seen any one as kind as you.You helped me in a foreign land with out even knowing me. Your kindness has touched my soul.

Blessed is the mother who  raised you with such values.

Your sense of humor and simple approach to life will be missed.You were a true human being and never judged anyone.If people were as simple and kind as you the world would be a better place.

I cannot thank you enough.

I only recently had the pleasure of meeting you but right away I could see the kindness in your heart. I watched as you gave everything in your shop away and prepared it to be shipped it to the people in need in Jamaica. You are loved and will be missed very much ❤️

Rip in my uncle I miss you so much it's broke my heart to lose you but you didn't go alone a part of me went with you the day god called You home. You have such a good heart and u will always be  in my heart.

From the day I came here and from the day you knew I was coming to Canada you never left me out my uncle. You made sure I was ok you checked on me whether I was at school, work or home. You would video call me text or send a voicenote to my phone. The last convo we had was the day before all this mishap and I told you to stay strong nothing will go wrong. Little did I know the Lord has other plans for you. I promised to come see you after the whole procedure you was happy that I was gonna come over. When I did not hear from you I called and texted your phone and got nothing. Little did I know you were takin from us all😭😩💔. I want to say thank you as I always do whenever you reached out to me I will forever appreciate all the good and encouraging convos we had my uncle. Was really hoping to see you after so long and that was when grandma died. You left your sister Big One my mom in distressed 😩 because she was the one who told me to reach out to you and I never regret it my uncle. Love you loads ❤️ and keep resting my dear uncle Leabert 🙏

Approximately 27 years ago  when I called my Uncle from Jamaica, he did not asked me who gave me his number or why I am calling. He was so excited to hear my voice and to find out how was the rest of family doing. 
 I am so heart broken knowing that I am sitting on a valid Canadian Visa and can not be there for him.
 But he has friends that are as valuable as some of his family members or even more so.
 He elected Kadeem Brown and Sara Feshangchi  to take care of him and I am sure, that they're capable. 
 My Uncle, my friend, my advisor and my personal Bill Cosby, I will always love you. Your wishes will be granted!!!

From the first day I met Rob, I knew we were going to be friends for the rest of our lives and we are. I am going to miss your stories, your cooking, your friendship, your jokes, your company, your advice and your wisdom.

Bert had a heart full of courage, strength, and compassion for others. He was a wonderful story teller and teacher. May he rest in peace.  

I remember as a kid my uncle would carry me and my brother Paul on his head in a basket.was tge best uncle ever, alway make us laugh
