Born on August 1, 1944, in Bay Roberts Conception Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, Leonard was the beloved son of the late James and Evelyn Duggan.
Leonard is now peacefully reunited with his beloved wife, Patricia Gail Duggan (née Warden), who predeceased him in August 2010. Though many years have passed since her departure, the love they shared remains everlasting.
Cherished father of Jennifer Evelyn (Joe) and Heather Irene (Peter). Leonard was a proud and loving Poppy to Noah, Ryan, EmmaRose, Ashley (Justin), Alysha, and Amber, and a treasured great-grandfather to Logan, Raiden, Onyxia, Mileena, Sylvanis, and Artemis. He will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings Frank, Margaret, Sharon, Madonna, and Catherine, along with his extended family and many dear friends.
Leonard was a man with a heart as big as his generosity. Known for his kind and giving nature, he was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. There was seemingly nothing Leonard couldn't fix, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether it was repairing something that had broken or simply being there for someone, Leonard found joy in making life a little easier for those around him.
Music held a special place in Leonard's heart, bringing him happiness throughout his life. He also had an extraordinary love for animals, whose companionship brought him endless comfort and joy. His gentle spirit and compassion extended not only to the people he loved but to every creature that crossed his path.
Above all, Leonard will be remembered for his enormous heart, his selflessness, and the love he so freely gave. His greatest legacy lives on through the generations of family who were fortunate enough to call him Dad, Poppy, and Great-Poppy.
Though his hands are now at rest, the love they gave, the things they fixed, and the lives they touched will never be forgotten.
Rest now, Leonard, your work here is done.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant: ... enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
