Lourdes Macatangay

It is with deep sadness and grateful hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Lourdes “Daisy” Macatangay, who peacefully went to be with The Lord on 2 September 2026, at the age of 82.

By God’s grace, our dear sister, Daisy, lived a long and meaningful life filled with love, faith, kindness, and devotion to her family. We praise and thank God that she is now resting in the loving arms of her Lord and personal Saviour, Jesus Christ - absent from the body present with the Lord (2nd Corinthians 5:8).

She was a treasured sister. aunt, grandaunt, friend, and a source of joy especially when she smiles and laughs showing her cute dimples at the corner of her mouth. She loved travelling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends

Daisy will be remembered for her very generous heart, good sense of humour and unwavering faith in God. She had a special way of making people feel loved and welcomed. She faced challenges with courage and remained grateful for the blessing around her.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter Simon (2011), her father, Col. Vicente Macatangay, her mother, Severina Alejo Macatangay, her brother Eddie, and her sister, Tita.

She will be missed by her other siblings, Linda, Noy, Rolly, Charito and Millet, as well as her nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, and other relative and friends

Family and friends may visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home,

1141 St. Clair Avenue W, (1 block east of Dufferin on Friday, September 11, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at

10:30 am in the Jerrett Funeral Home chapel. Cremation to follow privately. Relatives and friends may wish to follow the procession drive to the crematorium at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 375 Mt Pleasant Rd, Toronto (Mt Pleasant and St. Clair Ave W).
