With deep love and sadness, the family of Luis Empleo Garcia, 73, of Scarborough, Ontario, announces his passing on November 11, 2025.
Born in Cebu, Philippines, Luis worked at North York General Hospital and was known for his kindness, simplicity, and love of music. He could often be found singing or playing the piano by ear, or taking long walks wherever his feet led him.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Avelina, daughter Joanne, son Andrew, son-in-law Dominic, and grandsons Riley and Hunter, whom he adored deeply. Luis was the best grandfather. He was always involved, helpful, and eager to spend time with his family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Jarrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road in Scarborough, Ontario. The visitation begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by a service at 12:30 p.m.
Light refreshments will be served following the service.
Luis will be forever remembered for his gentle heart, musical spirit, and the love he shared with everyone around him.
