October 24, 2026 – Age 76
Luzviminda “Minda” Pletado, 76, passed away on October 24, 2026, leaving behind cherished memories of a life marked by courage, kindness, and deep devotion to her loved ones.
Born in Iriga City, Bicol, Philippines, Minda was the daughter of Antonio and Isabel and the sixth of eight children. She grew up alongside her siblings Milagros, Benjamen, Elnora, Virginia, Salvador, Ruperto, and Romeo.
In 1977, Minda travelled to Spain to work, spending two years there before moving to Canada in 1979 to begin a new chapter of her life. Passionate about fashion, she pursued her interest by working at Harry Rosen.
Minda met Rudy in 1987, and they married in 1989, building a life together filled with shared experiences and family memories. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to their only son, Anthony, whom she cared for through countless thoughtful gestures and acts of love.
A home-loving woman, Minda took pride in keeping her house clean and welcoming. She enjoyed cooking, preparing delicious meals, making her famous turkey, and baking cakes for the people she loved.
Those who knew Minda remember her as strong, courageous, and generous-hearted. She was a better listener than a talker, always concerned about others and often putting their needs before her own. Although she could be quick-tempered at times, she was equally quick to calm down. She disliked dishonesty and valued sincerity. Her caring nature often led her to help others, sometimes giving more than she received.
Minda treasured her friendships with Lynne, (Deceased) Cynthia, Monsie, Jean, and Tilet. She was also grateful for the care and support of Ely and wife Delia, (Deceased) Rudy’s sister, and her niece Cheryl, and Bryan and Glenda her niece in the Philippines who were always there to assist her and her family.
Minda will be remembered for her strength, honesty, generosity, love of family, and the quiet yet meaningful ways she made a difference in the lives of others.
Her love will continue to live on through her husband, Rudy; her son, Anthony; her family; and the many friends whose lives she touched.
May her memory forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
