Died peacefully at Providence Healthcare in Scarborough on November 16, 2015, in his 85th year. A native of Wishaw, Scotland, he apprenticed as a plasterer before immigrating to Canada, where he eventually launched his own business and began investing in real estate. An avid cyclist, in later life he rode the Tour de France one day behind the racers. Predeceased by his loving wife Betty (Hoyle), he leaves son Kenneth, daughter Kirstin, daughter-in-law Ellen Moorhouse, son-in-law Stewart Walden and granddaughter Sarah Kidd. A celebration of Malcolm and Betty’s life will be held November 28, 2015, beginning at 1 p.m., at the Royal Canadian Legion Todmorden Branch 10, 1083 Pape Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
