To all Marcia's relatives, friends, colleagues;  
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this Guest Book so far.  Thank you to all of you who attended the wake and/or the funeral and luncheon, and extended their sympathies to my family for the tragic loss of my sister.   I am not able to thank all of you individually because not all of you gave me your address.  However, know that all of you are in my heart for having been so kind to us in this sad time.  I share with all of you in your grief.  I know it has been very difficult for all of us to understand the circumstances of Marcia's departure.  Let us be thankful for having had Marcia in our lives and for all the times she made us laugh!!!  What a Blessing!!

I am extremely saddened to hear the news of Marcie's passing.  She was a wonderful aunt to me growing up.  One thing I would get excited about every year until my teens was auntie Marcie shipping a birthday gift in the mail. She was always thoughtful in that way.

 I wish we had kept in more contact in our recent years.  I am glad that she was able to celebrate my wedding with all of her extended family a few years back.  It will be a great memory to hold onto.

We will all miss her funny dry sense of humour and presence.

To Pierre and family, I send my deepest sympathy.  This must be beyond difficult for you all.

To Marcia’s friend who spoke at her memorial service,

I do not remember your name, and for that I apologize, but I do remember your description of your friendship with Marcia and I would like to thank you for sharing that with everyone who attended.  

The Marcia that you spoke of is the one that I remember and it was comforting to get to know her better through your recollections of a 45-year friendship.  

Marcia and I began work together at the OCL at approximately the same time; she was the EA and I was an articling student.    As a consequence of Marcia’s dedication and perfectionism, and my fear and steep learning curve, we would often find ourselves in the office together on weekends.  

During these times we had conversations about books, travel and the theatre.  These conversations continued over the next six years and during one of our last talks Marcia spoke of her eagerness to see Barrymore, which does not open until the end of this month.  This greatly saddens me now, as it reminds me that her future plans will not come to be.

Marcia was an intelligent woman with a curious mind and a great sense of humour.  She was a sensitive soul who took pleasure in so many things.  The fact that I, as someone who only knew her through work, could see this is testament to how deeply she felt things.

Thank you again for recounting some of what are undoubtedly your many memories of Marcia; your story of the gift of the Robert Frost poems was particularly lovely.

Dear Marcia,
I loved you when our love was blessed,
I love you now there's nothing left
but sorrow and a sense of overtime,
And I missed you since the place was wrecked,
And I just don't care what happens next,
Looks like freedom but it feels like death,
It's something in-between I guess,
It' closing time!

You will truly be missed by everyone;  your spunk and vivaciousness.  It was a pleasure working with you, and you'll always be in my heart.
