Daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Kelly (nee Boyle). Dear sister of Madge (Domenic), and the late Mary Angela and Seamas, Glenties, Donegal, Ireland. Dearest aunt to Mary & Neelie Moy, Phelam (deceased), Eamon, Mary and Patrick.
Fondly remembered by her dear godchildren Patrick Lomuti and Edward Ferry.
The family would like to extend a special remembrance to the many cherished Dolan, Boyle, Byrne, Gallagher, McGinley & Tracy family relatives living in Ireland, United Kingdom and the United States.
Mom Dolan took great pride and joy from being an active Holy Cross Parishioner for 60 years, where she was a member of the Holy Cross choir and Catholic Women's League. Mom's heart felt at 'home' belonging to the Donegal & Tyrone Associations in Toronto and thoroughly enjoyed all the cultural, music, Irish dancing and the many 'craicks' sponsored over the years. We cannot forget one of Mom's favourite holidays as she proudly donned her special green 'Donegal' jacket, excited to participate in the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Toronto, come rain or shine, her Irish eyes were smiling!
Margaret proudly devoted her life to family, dedicating her working life as a nurse for over 30 years at The Hospital for Sick Children and later as a special education teacher assisting special needs children. She effortlessly maintained cherished family and friendship bonds here and abroad with countless letters and cards lovingly penned throughout her life.
Our mother was definitely one of a kind, blessed with her gifts of friendship, generosity and hospitality, she had a special ability to touch people's lives in her sweet manner, her door was always open with a welcome on the mat for friends and acquaintances to join in a fine cuppa tea, a good chat and a belly full of cheer. All this and more will be sorely missed. It is with sincere love and deep affection we thank you Mom for 'all' and will endure to find comfort and solace in the days ahead knowing you are resting peacefully in the loving arms of our dear father for eternity.
Margaret especially treasured the close long standing friendships with Patricia Farrell, Margaret, Barney and Michael Ferry, Morlando family, Glovescheski family, Hughes family, MacDonald family, Yvonne MacKay, Mary McCabe, Todd Ross and Kirk MacKenzie and dearly departed mother, Rose. A special warm thank you goes out to Mom's dedicated and compassionate caregiver Ioana, the staff and volunteers at True Davidson Nursing Home and to Godfrey Jordon for providing spiritual comfort and friendship to our dear Mother during her convalescence at East General Hospital. We wish to thank the nursing staff, especially Bryan Boyachuk who kept a watchful eye over Mom, and members of the Palliative and Spiritual teams at Toronto General Hospital for their compassionate care and the beautiful blessing bestowed at Mom's final moments.
The family will receive family and friends at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel, 467 Sherbourne Street, Toronto, ON (Wellesley and Sherbourne) on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 291 Cosburn Avenue (Donlands and Cosburn). Interment to be held at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Avenue (NE corner of Birchmount and St. Clair). Friends and family are invited to a reception following at the Pine Hills Reception Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospital for Sick Children would be appreciated by the family as your expression of sympathy.
Lovingly written by Mom Dolan's daughter, Margaret Mary.
