Margaret Nancy Halliday

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret Nancy Halliday on February 20, 2026, at the age of 73.

Margaret was born on November 3, 1952, born to Robert and Marjorie Halliday, and raised by Alfred and Vera Wellman in the west end of Toronto. As a young adult she moved downtown and spent over 50 years in the community of Moss Park that she proudly called home. It was there that she raised her children, built lifelong friendships, and became someone others could always count on. She was a strong, devoted, and selfless woman who sacrificed endlessly for her children and for those she loved. Her strength carried her family through life’s challenges, and her love was their foundation.

Margaret loved her family more than anything in the world, and her grandchildren were her greatest joy. Nothing made her happier than being their grandmother, especially the time shared with her beloved grandson Shiloh, and granddaughters Waimeah and Kaliah. She was their biggest supporter, their comfort, and their safe place.

She also had a special love for animals and cared for many pets over the years. She found simple joy in feeding the squirrels and watching them gather, a small daily ritual that reflected her gentle and caring nature.

She will be forever loved and deeply missed by her children, Ian Halliday, Daniel Halliday, Violet Halliday, and Arrol Halliday, her cherished grandchildren, and the many friends, neighbours, and community members whose lives she touched with her kindness and generosity.

A private viewing will be held for her children, followed by cremation.

A service to honour and celebrate Margaret’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and a memorial service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Her ashes will be present. The service will take place at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne Street, Toronto, Ontario.

Margaret’s love will live on in her family forever. She will never be forgotten.
