She was predeceased by her husband Teruo "Ted" and her daughter Eleanor Louise.
Born on April 13, 1921, to Takaoka Tatsutsui and Yone (née Fujimoto), Margaret was last surviving member of their family. She was predeceased by her parents, older siblings Masawo "Joe" (Rinko), Yoshio, Shizue "Ethel" Asae (Sadaichi), Donald "Don" Hideo, Fumie Kinoshita (Seichi) and Mary Toshiko, and younger brothers George Minoru (Catherine "Kay" Keiko née Arai) and Harry Hiroshi.
Greatly missed by her sons Gordon Raymond and Harvey Gerald, and her grandchildren Christopher, Matthew, Stephanie, Aiden, Vivienne and Violet. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and their children.
Affectionately called "Maggie" by her mother, she grew up in Murrayville, British Columbia, before they were relocated to the Lemon Creek Internment Camp during the Second World War. There she became a teacher at the camp school after receiving training in New Denver. Post-war she moved east to Toronto, bringing her mother with her to reunite with her younger brothers. She thereafter married Ted Nagai and together they raised their family as devoted parents in the Upper Beaches neighbourhood. After Ted passed away in November 2008 she continued to live in the family house until September 2026.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Providence Healthcare for seeing to her comfort during her final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Momiji Health Care Society or to Providence Healthcare Foundation.
