It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Theis (Kirchheim), beloved wife and partner of Horst-Dieter Theis for 72 years, mother of Christopher (Brigitte) and Oma to Hannah, Felix and Jonas, and known as such by many others. Margaret was born in Frankfurt, Germany to Alfred and Lina, but grew up in England before returning to Germany for the wartime years. She met the love of her life in 1946, and boarded the "Anna Salen" together with him on September 17, 1953 for Canada. They were married shortly after arriving in Toronto at College Street United Church. They became and remained active church members ever since. In addition to her family, College Street United Church became her passion and she spent countless hours working for the betterment of the church community and those that it supports. For those who wish, donations may be made to College Street United Church.
The family will receive friends at Jerrett Funeral Home - St. Clair Chapel, 1141 St. Clair Ave. W. on Thursday August 6 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. A funeral service will be on Saturday August 15th at 2pm at College Street United Church, 452 College St, Toronto.
