To know Nonna was to feel embraced, whether by her arms, her cooking, or her endless kindness. Her kitchen was a sanctuary, where sauce simmered for hours and stories flowed even longer. There, we learned not only how to make yummy roasted peppers, but how to nourish others—with food, yes, but also with laughter, patience, and an open heart.

She carried the wisdom of generations in her gentle eyes and had a way of making each person feel like the most important in the room. She remembered everyone’s favorite dish, everyone’s birthday, and always had time to listen, even when the world felt too busy.

Nonna taught us how to love with actions more than words, though her words—soft, in her lilting voice—were always filled with comfort. She showed us the strength of quiet sacrifice, the joy of giving, and the grace of forgiveness.

She believed in the power of small things: a perfectly folded napkin, a garden full of basil, a kiss on the forehead, a prayer whispered for someone in need. And somehow, those small things made a big life—a beautiful life.

Her legacy is one of love, humility, resilience, and family. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her life—a life that touched so many, that shaped who we are, and that will echo through generations to come.

Nonna, we will miss your voice, your smile, your stories. But most of all, we will miss your presence—your steady, unwavering presence that made everything feel like home.

Grandma,
Though not my grandmother by blood, you became one in every way that truly mattered. You welcomed me with warmth, love, and a gentle strength that touched everyone around you. In your presence, I learned what true kindness, resilience, and unconditional love looked like.

You showed me how to live with grace, quiet strength, and faith. I believe God brought you into my life to give me the chance to love and care for someone who reminded me so much of my own grandmother — a chance I missed with her but was grateful to have with you.

In you, I found not just a grandmother figure, but a true friend and guiding light. Even during the short time we shared, you became family. Your hugs, kind words, and radiant spirit will stay with me always.

You were a treasure, a light, and a source of love. The bond we shared wasn’t defined by blood, but by something deeper — love and respect. Life moves forward, but your place in my heart is forever.

Sincere condolences to the family from Eva Primiani.

Our beautiful Nonna passed away this past weekend. She lived until 102, always treating people with immense kindness and gratitude.
She was a lover of poetry, often reciting long passages from memory up until her final days. She was a talented artisan, creating beautiful embroidery pieces, something she did as piecemeal work as a new immigrant in Canada. She was a mother of 5, grandmother and great grandmother to many more. A fantastic story teller. She experienced war and dark days but had always maintained a positive spirit and found strength in her faith. She took technological advancements in stride, always smiling in wonder of what was possible. 
We will all miss her deeply.

There is no word to express my Heartfelt Sympathy and Condolences in loss of your Dear Mother Maria and to your family.
My prayers and thoughts are with you all and your extended family during this time of loss.

Maria was a beautiful lady with her wonderful smile, kind loving heart and caring personality.  

I remember the times I use to stop by her house she would be there with her smiling face, how happy she would get and the times we exchanged Christmas cards over the years the joy it brought both of us.

I’m lucky to have known her and will surely miss her.
