She is predeceased by her loving husband Don and her parents Jack and Doris. She is survived by her loving brother Bill (Phyllis), her niece Jodi (John) and her nephew Tim. She was a loving great aunt to Michael, Ella, Tyler and Sophie. She will also be dearly missed by her many cousins.
Marianne was born in Toronto, where she attended public school for a few years before transferring to the Canadian Institute for the Blind in Brantford, that is where she met her husband Don and they were eventually married in Toronto.
Although Marianne was disabled, she worked for CNIB with her husband Don in Leaside. They were both fiercely independent.
They were long time members if the Royal Canadian Legion in East York where they played Competitive Darts and loved bowling, they won many trophies.
Marianne and Don loved travelling. They have taken trips to the East Coast; West Coast and they even went to Branson Missouri where they enjoyed many concerts.
A special thanks to the staff of Maple Villa Long Term Care Home for their compassion and love during Marianne’s Long-term residency there. We also would like to extend special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Joseph Brant Hospital.
Visitation will be held at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON, M4C1L3, CA, on August 17, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
