Marilyn Farrell passed away suddenly at her home on Monday, August 4, 2014 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Albert Farrell. Loving mother of Suzanne Barnsdale (David), Janice Cardy (Daniel) and Kathy Murphy (Kevin). Proud Grandma of Chantel Barnsdale, Robert, Andrew and Alexander Cardy, and Claire, Emily and Carley Murphy. Lovingly remembered by sister-in-law Margaret Stericker (Rod), brother-in-law Robert Farrell and nephews Ray Stericker (Darlene) and Stephen Farrell. Marilyn was an avid quilter, a hobby she shared with her granddaughters and the community. In addition to the many ‘comfort quilts’ she completed, Marilyn also volunteered in the gift shop at The Etobicoke General Hospital. Always ready for the next adventure, Marilyn was a world traveller and happily passed the travel bug on to her daughters. Marilyn spent many happy summer days at her cottage on Dickie Lake, the evenings usually finished with a card game. Dessert was always more important than the main course for Marilyn. Her favourites were butter tarts, lemon squares and strawberry cheesecake. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, August 9th, at 10 am at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road, Scarborough, ON. The service will commence at 11:30 am, followed by a luncheon. Internment at Pine Hills Cemetery will follow the luncheon at 2pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to The PKD Foundation of Canada or Etobicoke General Hospital.
