Marion Henrietta Quail

Marion Henrietta Quail was born in Georgetown, Guyana, on November 2, 1941, the cherished firstborn child who brought immediate joy to her parents. Affectionately known to family and friends as "Moi," she was raised in Kitty, where she spent a happy and nurturing childhood.

Gifted with a natural brilliance in mathematics, Marion easily found her calling in the financial world. After completing high school, she studied Secretarial Science with a major in Bookkeeping. She built a successful career working for various companies in Georgetown, establishing a reputation for sharp intellect and meticulous dedication that she would later carry across borders.

On June 1, 1968 Marion married the love of her life, Joseph Quail. Together, they built a beautiful, serene life in the countryside before embarking on a new adventure together, migrating to Canada in 1977.

In Canada, Marion seamlessly continued her professional path in finance and bookkeeping. Upon retirement, her meticulous nature turned toward giving back to her community. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels and True Davidson, always seeking ways to uplift those around her.

Marion enjoyed simple things in life like reading and gardening. She was also a wonderful cook who especially loved making Chinese food.

As an ardent Catholic, Marion was a weekly parishioner at Our Lady of Fatima church in Scarborough before her illness. Her unwavering faith in God and dedication to prayer were the anchors of her life.

In her later years, as her health declined, Marion found immense joy and community at the Woodgreen Adult Day Program. The program provided her with wonderful opportunities to socialize, share stories, and meet new people.

On Sunday, June 14, 2026, surrounded by two of her siblings, Ann and Donald, Marion peacefully entered into eternal rest leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and quiet dedication.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe and her parents. She leaves to mourn her siblings, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, brother-in-law, and her lifelong friends.

Marion will be deeply missed, but forever remembered for her sharp mind, generous heart, and profound devotion to her family and faith.
