Nuala was Jamie and My neighbour for over 25  years at the Blackburn Building in Ottawa.

We miss her dearly.

I did work with Nuala when I was working in Security Division at DFAIT!

I knew Nuala when I was in my early teens. The Kirby family were close friends of my parents. I remember her as being a friendly, outgoing lady who was always good to my sister and I. They had a cottage in the Gatineau, at Laramac as did my family. The Kirby's and the Virr's loved to party. And they did along with another big family, the Burpee's. I was 13-15 at the time. Nuala and her sisters were really good to us kids. We left for Falconbridge in 1962 (my dad was posted to the radar station) and I didn't see her again till we came back to Ottawa in the late '60's. 

A fine lady from a great happy family. 

I had the opportunity to work in the Security Division where I met Nuala and had the privilege to know her.  Quite a lady. Pleasant, funny, so nice.  May she Rest In Peace.

I am a retired employee  of Global Affairs Canada.
I did not know Nuala, but I recognize her from her photo as someone I often passed in the halls of the L. B. Pearson Building.
I was struck by her Obituary as were some of the over 500 retirees on the External/Foreign/Global Affairs Retirees Facebook page and on my e-mail list that I e-mailed on her passing.
I have copied below some of the replies to my e-mail message on Nuala’s passing.
Hopefully upon our passing, we will similarly be fondly remembered and toasted with the following Irish blessing and toast ;
“May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
“May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead.”
“I worked with this short Irish leperchaun in the Security Division in 1988 1989 time period.
One of her favourite stories, while at Brussels, was to buy one kilo of chocolates on Friday at 1600, then eat the last one at 0800 on Monday before work.
Her in tray was always full, as she wanted to have some work for the next day.
Entertaining and laughter filled our office.
