Marnie and Paul we are sharing your sadness for loss of our friend Mel. Besides being a wonderful daughter and wife, Mel was also a wonderful friend for us.

Mel was always there with a smile and a good word when we needed. We remember the joy and love Mel was always sharing with everyone she knew.

To bring Mel closer now we have all these wonderful memories together, the backyard evenings around the firepit, the laughs, the hockey nights, Max sleeping on your lap while we were cheering for the team, the Holidays dinners with cabbage rolls and lots of joy, and many more.

Rest in peace, Mel. you'll always be in our thoughts and prayers.

Melanie,
You were like my sister. We shared a lot of laughs. Texting for hours and trying to solve world issues which brought on more laughs. We were one in the same. That is how I will remember you.

To my beautiful friend, Melanie,

There are no words to express my sorrow at your passing. That said, I am also so grateful for the friendship we shared for many years. From our crazy, wild days at Braemar to our recent rekindling of our friendship, you gave me so many wonderful memories that I will cherish in my heart forever. Thank you for all that you gave, Mel. I will forever remember the Braemar Academy Awards, Melanie Mcmuffins, camping, beer bowling, leather and lace and all the ladies' nights, hamburgling, the parties, the weddings, "Lean on Me", the laughter and the tears. You are my treasured friend and will never be forgotten. Love you forever!

Melanie cared for what others thought and carried that into her marriage. On June 7, 2005 Melanie married Apostolos (Paul) Kanellopoulos at Flavors Bar and Grill of Gainseville, Florida. Melanie was a down to earth person, outgoing and gregarious. She was without question the type of person who enjoyed experiencing things first hand. She was practical and sensible, but what friends and family will remember her for most is the fact that she was so understanding and kind.
