

When Nicholas walked into the room, those in his company felt energy, an enthusiastic spontaneity. This was just one example of who Nicholas was and how he impacted those around him. Nicholas was a clever and gregarious person who always sought out the finest attributes in other people. It was as if Nicholas wanted to share all of their experiences, revel in their lives and celebrate their discoveries. Nicholas was tireless and had boundless enthusiasm that would serve him well throughout his life.
Nicholas was born on August 8, 1997 at Humber Memorial Hospital in North York, Ontario, Canada. He was the son of Mary Hoang and Huan Pham. Nicholas was raised in Brampton, ON, Canada and moved to Ridgefield, CT, USA in 2008. Always at the ready with a good joke, he grew up to be quite a humorous person and a fine young man. While some who knew Nicholas might describe him as an idealist, his friends and family understood well that Nicholas was always in pursuit of life’s endless possibilities and opportunities available to him.
Nicholas was raised with one older sister. As a young boy, Nicholas was full of energy and was obedient and respectful. Nicholas was very accepting and supportive of his family. He was perceived as an easy going, very simple, content and happy person. Nicholas was typically a person who brought about resolution and harmony. These traits and, along with his funny, caring and sweet personality, and understanding of others, drew the admiration of many who knew him.
Nicholas was intelligent and had no trouble getting along with his peers. He was almost always the first to jump in when it came to playing games or participating in other childhood activities. In his spare time he liked to read, watch anime, bike and play on line video games with his friends. Nicholas' memorable achievements included winning first in the hockey tournament and obtaining honour roll status during his years at Ridgefield High School. Nicholas had the ability to find amusement with almost any activity he and the many childhood friends he shared might discover.
During his high school years, Nicholas responded enthusiastically to any new project and was regularly in search of one adventure after another. He attended Ridgefield High School in CT and St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Vaughan, ON, CAN. Nicholas was a very good student, and generally did very well in his courses. Nicholas absorbed as much as he could from all of his teachers and was consistently able to tackle conceptual and abstract problems, using his imagination to master his assignments. For Nicholas, school often became just an extension of playtime, thanks to his ability to turn just about anything into a game. Classmates considered Nicholas a good listener, knowing that when necessary, they could go to him to discuss just about anything. In addition to being an honour roll student, he will be remembered by classmates for his kind, genuine, funny and cheerful personality.
With a talent for making acquaintances easily which in turn brought him an endless stream of friends, Nicholas was sociable and could blend without effort into any social group. Caring and funny, Nicholas was easy to know and demonstrated a deep concern for others. He was known to his friends as 'Potato'. He always seemed aware of what was going on with people around him and throughout his life he made many friends and Nicholas was well liked by peers.
Nicholas enjoyed quality vacation time with family at resorts, cruises and theme parks. Nicholas was a lover of food and he always had great compliments for each good meal. Nicholas loved life.
Nicholas passed away on November 21, 2014 at Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. He is survived by his parents and his older sister. Services were held at St. Jane Frances Catholic Church. Nicholas was laid to rest in Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
There were always truthfulness and gentleness to Nicholas. He was a selfless, loving and carefree person who brought joy to others. Nicholas was well loved by his family and friends. Nicholas will be dearly missed, forever loved and never forgotten for he is forever in our hearts.
