March 12th 1948 – December 19th 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Nicholas Patrick Spencer on December 19th, 2025.
Nick was born on March 12th, 1948 in Alton, England and was raised by his loving parents Violet and Tim Spencer in Willesden, London. He will be reunited with his family including his son Tim, brother Phil and sister Toni.
He described his early days fondly, including his first job as a lantern carrier to guide cars through the great London fogs. He frequently reminisced of his youth in London: playing with friends, watching the greats in concert, excelling in school and particularly maths, and learned how to outperform most in the billiard halls.
He moved to Canada in 1967 and claims to have started the “British Invasion” into Toronto, where he later settled. He met his loving wife Jill and was blessed with two children Tim and Sarah. He took great pride in raising and providing for his family through his contracting business N. Spencer Contracting.
Nick Spencer, aka “Jolly ‘ol Saint Nick” truly was the life of the party. As a notorious joke teller, he could mimic almost any accent and remember minutiae of detail that set the stage for raucous punchlines. He was an incredibly generous and kind soul and will be greatly missed by his family and legions of friends.
He is survived by his wife Jill, daughter Sarah, son-in-law Chris and his beautiful granddaughter Violet, who was the light of his life. We will always love and miss him dearly and will honour his memory through the future memories that we make together.
