

BAKER, Norma Louise (nee Loft) - 1931 - 2009 S.S. St. John After a courageous battle with cancer, Norma passed away on May 5, 2009. Beloved, youngest daughter of the late Lyda and Henry Loft. A beautiful, vibrant and spirited mother, Norma's two real treasures in life were her son, Jim Baker and her daughter, Sandi Baker. Sandi, Jim and his companion Nancy will deeply miss her friendship and everlasting love. Retired media librarian, Metro Separate School Board, Norma was an active person, genuinely interested in the lives of others. A past Toronto Corps Superintendent and Training Officer of the St. John Ambulance Brigade and a Serving Sister of the Order. She was also on the board of International Rescue and Emergency Care Association as their First-Aider at Large. Wife of the late Arthur Baker (1981). Predeceased by sister Lillian Loft Kellett (2005), Norma will forever be loved and remembered by her sister Fran Hetherington and her brothers and their wives, Frank and Mary Loft, Barry and Judy Loft, Harry and Ina Loft. She will also be missed by her numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews, and sister-in-law Shirley. A very special thanks to Norma's 'earthly angel', Ellen Cross. Her support, care, and friendship were so generous and so greatly appreciated. A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the JERRETT FUNERAL HOME, 660 Kennedy Rd. (south of Eglinton), Scarborough, followed by a reception.
