Patricia Lewis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Lewis peacefully on May 2, 2025 in her 92nd year.

Patricia was the beloved wife of the late Derek Lewis, and a devoted mother to Susan and her husband Warren. She was a cherished grandmother to her three granddaughters: Sydney, Avery, and Ruby Barbour, who brought her immense joy and pride. Patricia was a loving sister to Herb, Rene, Pauline, and Arthur, and maintained close ties with her family throughout her life, both in Canada and abroad. Her siblings and their families meant the world to her.

Born and raised in Swansea, Patricia carried her Welsh heritage with pride. She immigrated to Canada to begin a new chapter, building a life filled with love and family. She always held very fond memories of her beloved homeland, especially the beautiful beaches of Mumbles, which remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Patricia had a zest for life and simple joys. She loved getting out for brisk walks in the sunshine, listening to big band music, and dancing to timeless tunes. She was known for her famous Welsh pancakes, lovingly made for family gatherings, and for the special way she spoiled her granddaughters with warmth, laughter, and treats. Patricia also loved travelling, especially the many cherished cruise trips she shared with her family, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Her kindness and quiet strength touched the lives of all who knew her. Patricia will be dearly missed by her family and friends, near and far. With a void in our hearts, her spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear.

A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to Michael Garron Hospital in honour of her outstanding care team.
