We were disappointed and saddened to hear about Paul. I met Paul on the Mounted Unit and what a pleasure to meet such a good human being. His smile and personality made me feel like I had been his friend for many years. He was a good worker and when unloading hay bales from a truck he seemed to unload twice as many as others. Paul was thorough in the care of his horse and both shone when out on patrol. As a partner on the street Paul was the best, totally dependable. This is such a loss to Susan and family and all of us. Susan,  I sadly just learned of Paul's passing. I am so sorry for you. I think of you and Paul frequently. The visits at the "cottage" and the days he and I spent together at Orillia OPP. I had hoped to get you and Paul over to my new place on 12 Mile Bay , but alas, fate did not provide us the opportunity.

My Dad gave us the world. The lessons he taught us are priceless. He worked hard to give us the life he wanted us to have and I will forever be grateful.
My Dad loved to laugh and his smile was contagious. He always had a joke or a funny comment on the tip of his tongue. If he wasn't smiling, he was whistling. And boy could he whistle.
My Dad was kind . He was always there for us and anyone who needed a hand. You could always count on him for love, support and guidance. Or if that's not what you needed, you were always offered a meal, a drink or even an ice cream sundae. 
My Dad was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He always put others before himself, that was just his way.  
My Dad was so proud of his family, it was almost embarrassing. He would introduce us to strangers and before we knew it, he had shared our life story. He showed me how a husband should treat a wife. He raised the bar so that it would take a pretty amazing person to be my husband. He always told us how much he loved us. He was always there for hugs or a boost of confidence if that's what we needed. The love I saw in his eyes was endless-I will never forget that. This is my Dad- Always and forever.

Anne and I were sorry to miss the celebration of Paul's life today, but the driving from Burlington was too dicey.
We haven't seen Paul and Susan since Tommy Munroe's wedding, but fortunately, we keep in touch with Scott through band circles.

Our memory of Paul was that you rarely saw him without a friendly smile on his face and we never think of him without picturing him on horseback.

Our thoughts go out to the whole family.

On Valentines Day we lost our dearest friend Paul Greenaway. Paul passed away at Toronto General Hospital. Paul and I were sworn in as police officer on the same day, October 19, 1972 and Mina and I have remained close friends with him and Susan ever since. We celebrated their engagement with them, we attended their wedding and at the birth of their children. Paul will not only be missed by Mina and I but also by the many close friends whose life he lit up with his kind smile and friendly manner, hence the nickname 'Smiley". Paul was always there reach out to those who needed a helping hand, including myself. Our heartfelt prayers and sympathy go out to Susan and the family at this very tough time. Friends are never earned, they are a gift from God. I am proud to have We loved him and we will miss him.  I am glad that I had the opportunity to speak with him one last time in January. Our thoughts and prayers are with Susan and the family.

Dear Susan & Family--I am so sad to hear the news about Paul.  He was a real treasure and I will always remember long walks along the trail towards your house in the early morning hours with Ruffy.  Paul was always there, outside, working away with a smile and a welcome, along with Duff.

Paul was a kind soul. Always dependable as a co-worker and a friend.  He was always there to lend a helping hand, talk about golf, talk about general tidbits of buying tools, equipment, anything and everything.  I'm going to miss Paul, he taught me quite a bit over the years, we worked a lot of night shifts together and one thing I do know is how much he loved his wife Susan and family.

We had many fine times with Paul. Our highlight would be when he arrested the armed bank robber when he was off duty. I phoned my good friend, Deputy Chief Jim Noble who arranged for Paul to be awarded the banker's Medal.
He always thanked me for tuning Scott's pipes.

We only had one brother and God gave us the very best. Paul was always thoughtful, loving, kind, protective, honest, unassuming, humble, generous to a fault, the very best son and brother and husband and father and grandfather. We all love him. If love alone could have kept him here, he would have lived forever. I have always been grateful that he found such a beautiful, devoted, loving, strong, and loyal wife. And that together they had a very happy, full of love family home. Not everyone is blessed with this kind of happiness but The Paul Greenaway Family was. I know that this is what will hold you up strong and together through the darkest days you have ahead of you. You cannot see it now but there are brighter days ahead and Paul will be there watching you and smiling down on you. I will always love and miss my brother Paul. I loved playing golf with Paul. Certainly not because either of us was any good but the conversations where always great. He was my platoon mate and older brother for 18 months and taught me a lot about life and policing.  Gonna miss you, brother.
