

Born in Barbados, Ms. Haynes lived a life distinguished by service, faith, and steadfast dedication to the wellbeing of others. After immigrating to Canada in 1958, she trained as a social worker and devoted her career to the Children’s Aid Society, reflecting her deep compassion for children, families, and dedication to public service.
A faithful and longstanding member of the British Methodist Episcopal (BME) Church, Pearl’s spiritual life was a source of strength to her.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Winston Haynes and Hubert Haynes, and her sister Ruby Thorne (née Haynes).
Pearl will be lovingly remembered by her nephews, Cecil, John, and Alvin Haynes, along with numerous friends, Godchildren, church members, neighbours, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness, dignity, and steady presence.

A visitation will be held at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home, located at 2570 Danforth Ave., Toronto, on February 20, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The funeral service will follow at the same venue, starting at 11:00 am.
The committal service will take place at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, located at 2700 Kingston Road, Toronto, on February 20, 2026.
