It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pieter Karl Zuber peacefully at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre on November 17, 2022 . Pieter served with Canadian Army Signalman rank with theatres of service in Canada and the Middle East (1957-1960) where received medals of commendation. Upon his return to Canada he utilized his skills learned in the army to become a long haul truck driver and then a ready-mix/concrete driver for McCords. In 1963 he decided to embark on a new career with the Toronto Fire Department. He served 35 years and retired with the rank of Captain in 1998 to enjoy the cottage life in Katrine, Ontario. He is now reunited with his beloved wife Lynn (Jones) and is survived by his daughters Sherie (Roy), Katherine, and Michelle (Donald). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Kaytlynn (Kyle), Shayne (Kelsey), Matthew (Tyla), Kyleah, and Tyler, and his great-grandchildren Maddyx and Tucker. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11 am, located at Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Sunnybrook Veteran's Centre for their compassionate, skilled care and loving support.
