He was born on January 8, 1925, in the small town of Montalto Uffugo in Calabria, Italy.
Pietro spent his early years in Italy, where he served in the military during World War II and met his future wife. In 1955, he immigrated to Canada to begin a new chapter and provide for his family. He worked in an aluminum factory for 32 years and, together with his wife, raised three daughters.
He will be fondly remembered as a bit of a prankster, a passionate soccer fan, and someone who enjoyed a good game of cards. Above all, Pietro was a devoted family man who cherished his home and loved ones.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ida. He is survived by his daughters Adele (Henry), Pina (Frank), and Susy (Domenic); his grandsons Justin (Steph), Ryan (Rachel), and Vito; his great-grandson Theodore; and his sister, Giuseppina Vetere.
He will be deeply missed.
