One of my favourite memories is sitting under the carport at home while Dad, Ray and Eileen told stories of their childhood. A number of them involved Dad bailing Ray out of situations arising from something Ray had said - usually to the boys from the French school. Ray insisted that his “compliments” had been misinterpreted!

Ray had a tremendous sense of humour, an easy laugh and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Consummate storyteller, bon-vivant and true gentleman, Uncle Ray was a man for all seasons and will remain in our grateful hearts.
With sincere condolences and much love.

My heartfelt condolences to the family. Each and every memory I have of Uncle Ray makes me smile. Whether he was pretending to say the rosary when he took his afternoon nap, or showing off his dance moves, he always brought so much joy and humour to our family gatherings. I also remember how much my dad loved his brother, he would absolutely light up whenever Ray came to visit.

I was lucky to have Ray nearby in Chicago when I was there in school. As one of my dad's dear friends, Ray was always looking out for me and I'll miss the visits for coffee and the sporting events with the "not great seats" (in a private box directly behind home plate).
Thanks for taking me along, sharing the stories of your triumphant basketball career in KL, and for being such a friend to our family.
Rest well, Ray.

My favourite memory of Uncle Ray was at the cottage in North Bay. We would all be down at the dock and Uncle Ray would tell us that he was going up to the cottage to say his prayers. We all knew he was really looking for a nap, but if anyone walked into the cottage Uncle Ray would wake up immediately and start praying very loudly. There will be a little less laughter in the world now and Uncle Ray will be missed.

Condolences to the McCann family. He will be truly missed. Uncle Ray was always fun to be around and always kept me laughing. I always looked forward to his visits to the cottage in North Bay . I was grateful to have the privilege to join him at a hockey game or a night at the race track. Of course we all remember the stories of Kirkland Lake , and how it was up hill both ways to school. Rest peacefully Uncle Ray .
