Reynah Pereira

Surrounded by her daughter Nicole, son-in-law Joe, grandchildren Mikaela and Nicholas, and her devoted caregiver Nicca, Reynah passed away peacefully at home on the evening of July 28, 2026.

Reynah was predeceased by her beloved husband of 45 years, Jacinto, and by her parents, Jasso and Zulema.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Maria (Simba, predeceased; Tusker and Yoda), Franca (Errol), and Nicole (Joe). She was a devoted and cherished grandmother and affectionately known as"Banana" to Mikaela (Anthony, Milo), Nicholas, and Declan (Rachael). Reynah was also the beloved sister of May (Ian, predeceased) and a loving aunt to Sara (Mac, predeceased).

Reynah will be deeply missed by her many relatives, in-laws, friends, colleagues, and Cromwell family, whose lives she touched with her warmth, generosity, and caring spirit.

Reynah enjoyed a successful career as a property manager for over 40 years, where her dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for others earned the respect of colleagues, residents, and friends alike.

She lived her life with grace, warmth, and quiet strength. Gifted with many talents, Reynah found joy in creating with her hands. Whether she was gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, baking, or cooking, everything she made reflected the love she had for her family. She delighted in making a few beautiful wedding and celebration cakes that became part of some cherished family milestones.

Reynah had an adventurous spirit and a passion for travel. She embraced opportunities to explore the world, delighting in new places, cultures, and experiences—from enjoying fresh sardines in Spain, visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra, to sipping piña coladas on the beach. She had an impeccable sense of style and was always elegantly dressed. She loved to shop for clothes and jewellery, and in her later years, when shopping trips became less frequent, she happily indulged that passion by watching The Shopping Channel, always hoping to discover her next favourite purchase. Reynah also appreciated the simple pleasure of a well-earned afternoon nap.

Above all, Reynah cherished her family. She welcomed everyone with kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. Her humour, resilience, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be remembered always. The traditions she created, the meals she prepared, the gifts she crafted, and the memories she made will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her gentle and compassionate caregivers—Nicca, Tenzin, Jeanny, Sujata, Ranny, Mary, Russell, Maria, and Grace whose dedication, friendship, and loving care brought Reynah comfort over the past few years.

The family also wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the exceptional teams at the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care, Ontario Health at Home, Spectrum Health Care, and VHA for the compassionate support they provided during the past six months, making it possible for Reynah to receive palliative care in the comfort of her home. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Josh Wales, Yuriy, RN, Maryan, RN, Clara Wales, and Nicole Tavernese for their extraordinary compassion, care and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Reynah's memory may be made to the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care on the Sinai Health Foundation website.
