Richard Allan Plume

Passed away on September 3, 2024 in the company of his wife. He will be rejoining his beloved mother Mary. Devoted husband, partner and best friend to Wendy. Loving brother to Gary (Joan) and sister Karen (Hugh). Uncle to Mandi (Justin), Ashleigh (Mike), Lisa, Mike (Jessica), Vikki (Jerret), Britney, Amy (Craig), and Tiffany (Mark). Great-uncle to 12 great-nieces and great-nephews. Beloved “cat dad” to past and present fur babies.

Rick was born in Halifax and began working for the Canadian Press there as a messenger in 1972. He was transferred to Toronto in 1975, and worked as a Photo Editor, retiring after 43 years of service. He was a consummate professional, respected and admired by many colleagues.

His passions were photography, hiking, camping, and canoeing, always accompanied by his wife. He was a gentle and giving man, and will be truly missed.

A Celebration of Life for Richard will be held at Giffen Mack and Trull Funeral Home located at 2570 Danforth Ave, Toronto ON M4C 1L3, on Sunday September 29, 2024 from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm
